My father was posted to Canada when he was in the Royal Air Force. He said the cold was dry in Canada and had a bracing quality. In England there is a lot of rain and so the cold feels less comfortable. Mind you it never goes much below zero here.
What? The've got a minus 35c as well now! Sorry, but it's +15c in London today. Mind you, I do love Canada, especially Vancouver. If I ever go to Alberta, I'll go in the Summer thanks. ps: I followed you here from Rob's site.
